Aftercare for Extensions
For the past 15 years we have been immersed within the hair industry and been fitting hair extensions for 1,000’s of clients. In 2019 we decided to source our own hair as we simply couldn’t find the right quality hair at the right price.
The hair you’ll find through Vanity Hair Xtensions is the best quality we could find and believe me we’ve looked far and wide. It’s been rigorously tested by us and a few professional hair technicians we respect and trust. They too agree this hair is gorgeous.
As professionals we are sure you’ll be asked how to care for and get the best from the hair extensions you’ll be fitting, so here’s some tips for your clients.
NANO AFTERCARE
Your Vanity Nano hair extensions are made using on the finest grade of virgin cuticle intact human hair. When treated with love and care will last up to 18 months. Always have your Nano extensions fitted by a qualified technician.
Four main rules
- Brush from root to tip morning and evening
- Always make sure extensions are completely dry before going to bed
- Sleep in loose plait or bun
- Invest in good aftercare products that suit your hair as well as the extensions
IMPORTANT
Nano bonds will need to be rotated every 6-8 weeks depending on your hair type. Always take your extension technicians advice.
Wash care
Always use non sulphate shampoo. And use a moisturising/nourishing conditioner on the mid length and ends of the hair. Once washed you should brush the hair in sections with a soft bristle brush beginning at the ends and working up to the roots. This should be done once in the morning and once in the evening daily and every time you wash your hair
We recommend washing the hair twice to ensure all build up is removed (sulphate strips moisture from your hair) per wash as sulphate is the ingredient that removes oil from your hair s shampoo and conditioner. Avoid vigorous rubbing with shampoo. Concentrate on shampooing the scalp and allow shampoo to work through to the ends.
Lightly work conditioner though hair with your fingers from the tip to the mid lengths. You can even use your extension brush to apply the conditioner. Make sure the extensions are thoroughly rinsed. We recommend rinsing at least three times longer than you would your normal hair.
If you don’t follow these instructions it will cause your extensions to have a build up of product leaving your extensions limp, lank and dull. It will also effect the lifespan of your extensions.
Tip: We recommend washing your hair whilst showering avoid tipping your hair over the bath or sink to avoid matting.

Styling Advice
To dry your hair, we recommend blast drying to remove excess moisture. Point the hairdryer downwards to avoid matting. Once you feel the hair is nearly dry apply your oil. Section off the bottom half of your hair and clip remaining hair up and away from the rest. You can use an extension or round brush to blow dry each section whilst continuously brushing. This may seem a fiddly tedious task at first but will become easier and will prolong the styled end result. Once dry you can now curl or straighten to your preference.
The amazing curl retention on Vanity’s hair extensions ensure you don’t need to use excess heat to style the hair, hence it lasts for longer. Always use a heat protector and oil when using curling irons or straighteners.

U-TIP AFTERCARE
Your Vanity U-Tip hair extensions are made using on the finest grade of virgin cuticle intact human hair. When treated with love and care will last up to 18 months. Each strand of hair weighs 1g is double drawn from root to tip. Always have your U-Tip extensions fitted by a qualified technician.
Four main rules
- Always brush from root to tip every day, in the morning and again in the evening
- Ensure your hair extensions are completely dry before going to bed
- Sleep with hair in loose plait or bun
- Invest in good aftercare products that suit your hair type as well as good for the extensions
